ritual cleansing bath

A ritual cleansing bath is a magical act within itself. Any bath can be converted to a ritual cleansing bath with focus, intention and prayer. Cleansing baths are necessary for relieving stress, negative energy and washing away your cares down the drain. Any time you are feeling overwhelmed, a ritual cleansing bath will restore balance and remove negative forces from your auric field.

In this short article, I will give you clear instructions on how to perform a proper cleansing bath. Ritual bathing is about connecting to the water element. The water element is a vital and necessary element for mental and emotional balance, connection to the Divine Feminine energy and the performance of any magical ritual.

Step One - Nescessary Items

  • White Candles (fire element)

  • Frankincense and Myrrh Oil (spirit element)

  • Frankincense Incense (air element)

  • Bath Salts or Sea Salt (earth element)

  • Ritual Cleansing Soap

  • Tub of Water (water element)

Four Sons of Heru (Horus) Fire, Air, Water & Earth

By using candles, incense, salt and oil in your bathing ritual, you are naturally combining the four elements of fire, air, water, and earth to your practice (The Four Sons of Heru). The fifth element is Spirit (Ether). The acknowledgement of these five elements are necessary for any magical working. On a subatomic and energetic level you are working with elemental angels who are naturally part of you and always present to assist you, the Neteru. By working with these angels intelligently, you are beginning to come into a fuller awareness of who you are and how you also are comprised of these five elements or angels. Step Two - Prepare Your Bath

Light the incense and candles while saying a prayer to invite the spirit of the Air and Fire. This can be simply done by saying, Spirit of Air and Fire, I invite you to join me in this cleansing ritual. Run a lukewarm bath while adding a few drops of oil and handfull of bath salt, say a prayer inviting the Spirit of Ether, Water and Earth in the same way. Know that it takes all five elements to create anything that is created. The angels are always present. They exist within All. When you call them to assist, have confidence in them. Step Three - Ground and Center

Before entering the bath, ground and center yourself by doing a short deep breathing exercise. Enhale deeply through the nose for the length of four counts (1,2,3,4). Hold the breath in your abdomen for four counts (1,2,3,4), then exhale through your mouth for four counts (1,2,3,4). Repeat 4 times. By the end of the fourth breath, you should feel relaxed. If necessary repeat. This breathwork has been associated with activating the pineal gland of the brain which makes us more conscious and aware.

Step Four - Set Your Intention

Focus on what it is that you are cleansing or releasing. If it's negativity, say these words: I set my intention to release all negativity from my auric field or anything that is blocking or holding me back. Let this focus remain in the front of your mind as you step into the water.

Step Five - Cleansing

Similar to baptism, you are washing away everything from your life that is holding you back from moving forward and that would hinder your magical rituals. In order for your magic to be powerful, you must be clear, balanced, centered and grounded in love. Step into the bath and relax back into the water soaking your entire body and your hair. Relax and bring to mind any painful memories or experiences that need to be released and any harsh feelings you may need to let go of. Forgiveness is powerful, now is the time to let go of all grudges. Begin bathing with your cleansing soap as you think of each thing you need to release. Say out loud, I release each and every issue that holds me back. Continue to meditate, breathe and relax until your mind feels clear. Rinse off, and let the stopper out so the water can drain out the tub. As the water goes down the drain, imagine that all the negative energy you were carrying is also washed down the drain and you are cleansed. Say out loud, I am clean, and so it is. Shower off any remaining soap or debris.

Step Six -End the Ritual

Step out of the tub and pat yourself very lightly dry, do not rub. Take your oil and dab some on your hands, forehead and crown of your head and say out loud, may my hands be used for good works, may my mind be used for good will and may my spirit always be connected to the divine Creator and divine love, and so it is. End your ritual by giving thanks to the elements and say out loud: To the Spirit of Water, Earth, Air and Fire, I release you and thank you for assisting my desire. And so it is.

You should feel relaxed, cleansed and free in Spirit. Now you are prepared to do any magical ritual.
